Job description

You are a passionate and culturally savvy candidate with an excellent track record in international business development. Your main responsibility is building profitable business within the Business Unit Specialty Polymers. You have the background and the guts to explore new horizons and think outside the box, even when not all information is readily available. Assessing market potential, developing new applications and building market share is what you do best. You are used to be in the driver’s seat and manage your business from inception to completion. You drive and execute account strategies. Teaming up with clients you build profitable sales at existing and new accounts. Providing high level technical expertise, business focus and a hands-on approach is what makes you stand out from the competition. You translate business needs into tailor made solutions and co-create new applications and innovations. You act swiftly to customer requests and coordinate all follow-up actions including sampling, technical support and tolling. Networking with different nationalities and disciplines you build relationships quickly, face to face as well as in virtual settings. You maintain and extend networks and reinforce Europe wide partnerships with customers, distributors and agents. You impress customers with your astute market insight and you utilize the value creating potential of the business.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Approximately  5 - 10 years progressive experience within the specialty chemicals industry with a successful track record in business development; good commercial feeling
  • Proven multi-product and multi-market business results
  • Applications experience in product development or technical service
  • Free spirited /adventurous personality, who is eager and able to acquire and develop new business – not just maintain current accounts; persistent and patient
  • Strong communication skills. Fluency in English; German preferred; good command of other languages, e.g. Turkish, is a plus
  • Impeccable work ethic and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Excellent networking skills and flexibility to adapt to different cultures
  • Ability to travel extensively
