Job Description
Overseeing the complexity of a multi-unit environment you provide direction and leadership to all staff in operations. Reporting to the plant manager you drive the operational performance, asset utilization and cost efficiency of the site. You are their visionary leader and role model bringing operations up to standards to ensure reliability, QESH, cost and business targets are met. Moreover you assure full compliance with local and corporate standards and promote continuous improvement initiatives. You take pride in your employees and you energize them to seize opportunities and excel as a team. With a process centered approach and passion for operational excellence you share best practices across disciplines, build successful teams and keep team spirit high even in stressful conditions. As part of the Management Team you review the site performance and align the capabilities, human resources and budgets to maximize value and to continue to meet the growing energy needs of the market place.
Requirements
- University degree in relevant field, e.g. Chemical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering. MBA is a plus
- At least 8 years progressive manufacturing experience in a comparable industry (e.g. Energy, Chemicals); minimum of five years in an Operations Management role
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, implement change and drive results through people. Experience with Lean Six Sigma or Operational Excellence is an asset
- People manager with strong focus on safety, total quality and continuous improvement
- Sense of urgency, a ‘can do’ mentality and hands-on approach
- Excellent leadership skills, coaching, and business management. Potential to grow further within the organization.
- Persuasive personality with team-spirit and strong problem solving
- Good communication skills, including Dutch and English
- Willingness to participate in job rotation, in The Netherlands and abroad
