Job Description

You are one of those highly motivated people with the ability to drive change and improvements. As member of the Management Team and reporting to the Plant Manager you are an inspiring leader for a team of nine professionals in the fields of performance, process engineering, project engineering and reliability engineering. Playing a key leadership role in the continuing implementation of Lean methods you drive breakthrough improvements in the site’s engineering processes and capital investment programs. Managing both internal teams and third party activities, you ensure development of design, procurement, commission and validation of capital investments. Utilizing your technical capabilities and strategic project management skills you provide projects with adequate resources, monitor progress and complete projects within constraints of functionality, expenditure, production interference and lead time. Your empathic and energetic approach inspires the organization to get results. With your flexibility and talent to improvise you overcome unexpected situations and keep all parties informed and committed to deliver upon agreed objectives. You show excellence in all your endeavours, challenging your team to share best practices and contributing to corporate objectives. Discovering new perspectives, managing risks, transferring knowledge and obtaining financial results are the things that make you tick.

Requirements

  • University degree in relevant technical field, e.g. Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least eight years of experience in the chemical industry, including managerial experience
  • Demonstrated ability as a change agent, able to manage limited resources in an effective manner with a proven track record of success. Experience with Lean Six Sigma or Operational Excellence is a requirement
  • Excellent project management, planning and negotiating skills. “Can do” mentality, ability to think out-of-the-box, showing a lot of initiative and creativity
  • Self-starter with strong leadership skills, able to influence and motivate others
  • Strategic thinker with strong business judgment, maintaining overview in complex structures and changing environment; ability to oversee and manage multiple priorities
  • Empathic and diplomatic personality with excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Willingness to participate in job rotation, in The Netherlands and abroad
