Job description:

 

Reporting to the HSE Manager you lead and coach the Safety teams to ensure long term continuity and quality of on-site support. You provide operations and projects with adequate concepts and resources and keep track of current and future needs. You guide, support and develop a team of safety professionals (3 direct reports, up to 20 indirect reports) and interface with other departments and project teams to ensure safety awareness and behavior. With your experience you identify safety issues, initiate and provide solutions and ensure that the required Safety Management Systems are in place and up to date. Moreover, you develop and organize HAZOP tours and Risk Assessment meetings and keep all staff engaged in safety matters. Your brief includes reporting, tracking and investigating incidents and report to Senior Management and suspending activities when there is a potential or actual threat to human life, the installations or the environment. Since you represent the organization on safety matters you provide back-up assistance to the emergency organization as required. In addition you participate in relevant regional and industry initiatives. You collect and interpret data from different professional sources and analyze potential impact in terms of operations, costs and reputation. Utilizing your passion for safety you maintain and align corporate and local standards & guidelines to current and future developments. With your sharp analysis and empowering leadership style you inspire your team to share knowledge and achieve excellent results.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree in relevant field and registered safety qualification
  • Approximately 15 years relevant HSE experience in heavy duty operations; at least 10 years in a managerial role
  • Minimum five years experience in emergency response
  • Proven ability to grasp core issues quickly, adapt to changing circumstances and stand your ground in tough situations
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills; able to direct and coach employees and contractors, boost team spirit and performance
  • Result-driven personality with excellent communication skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Committed to an international career, which requires relocation to remote areas across the globe
