Client: Our US-based client has obtained an excellent reputation as a global manufacturer of superior technical and proprietary niche market products, systems and solutions for the electrical and building industry. The company has set outstanding records of profitable growth to date and is well positioned for further expansion on a global basis. With this goal the European & Asian headquarters, based in The Netherlands, is busy reengineering its European team.To drive the manufacturing performance to new heights they are looking for outstanding talent with strategic thinking.
Job description: Reporting to the Regional manager you will drive sales and profitability through formulating and implementing manufacturing policies and programs. You improve the competitive position and profitability of the operations as defined by the long and short term goals of the three year strategic plan. Your varied brief includes providing leadership for the multiple site production activities of Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality. As a member of the CMT Manufacturing you take charge of investment projects and share best practice between plants. You facilitate effectiveness throughout the supply chain and ensure products are manufactured on schedule and meet quality standards and cost objectives. Your vision and implementation skills impress in a demanding environment.
Requirements:
· MSc in Engineering
· Additional business training (MBA or equivalent) is an asset
· Ten years experience in operations management (production and logistics), preferably in an international setting
· Ability to provide strategic direction and related support; proven track record of exceptional results
· Thorough exposure to manufacturing processes, preferably with diverse products and multiple sites/cultures
· Experienced in managing a budget; experience with purchasing is a plus
· Dynamic personality, with strong vision and spine, execution driven, taskmaster
· High intellect with proven ability to translate theory into practice
· Strong overall business judgment, planning and operations management skills
· Strong leadership skills, ability to increase team spirit
· Ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a broad set of disciplines and cultures
· Excellent communication skills in English; preferably also in Dutch, French or Italian
· Approximately 50% of the time will be spent travelling through the region.
